Patisserie Valerie was first opened in London’s Soho in 1926 by Belgian born Madame Valerie, who came to London on a mission to introduce fine continental patisserie to the English.
Patisserie Valerie create luxury handmade cakes and patisserie, which Sainsbury’s were looking to offer their customers in 12 trial stores for a period of 12 weeks. I designed a set of POS to support the trial and to advertise the availability of this new range of Patisserie Valerie’s lovingly handmade cakes.
The initial trial proved to be successful enough that it was extended to a further 6 stores which had the “Milestone style” bakery and patisserie counters. The extended trial focused on a chilled range of cake and patisserie products.
Along with various options for the patisserie counters, I also created various marketing and wayfinding signage for the trial stores to announce the new offering and help customers locate the products.
…and as with all projects I worked on for Sainsbury’s whilst heading up the POS and signage design team, a pack was produced detailing the various assets available.
