As one of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tes.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tes<\/a><\/strong>&#8216; most important marketing events, the stand needed to showcase a rapidly expanding portfolio of products while creating a confident, premium brand experience that would stand out in a highly competitive exhibition hall.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Head of Design at Tes, I was responsible for the creative direction and design of the exhibition graphics, ensuring every touchpoint reflected the evolving Tes brand while supporting the commercial objectives of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Brief<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Create a visually impactful exhibition stand with 15m x 15m footprint that would:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Present multiple Tes products under one cohesive brand<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clearly communicate complex software solutions to different audiences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attract visitors from across the exhibition floor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support product demonstrations and sales conversations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deliver a polished, premium brand experience worthy of one of the education sector&#8217;s most recognised brands<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The challenge was balancing a significant amount of messaging and product information without overwhelming visitors, while ensuring the stand remained clean, approachable and unmistakably Tes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">My Role<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Working in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skylinewhitespace.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Skyline Whitespace<\/strong><\/a>, I led the creative design of the exhibition graphics from concept through to final artwork, working closely with marketing stakeholders, product teams and exhibition suppliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Responsibilities included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creative direction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exhibition graphic design<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Large-format artwork production<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brand application and consistency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visual hierarchy and messaging<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaboration with marketing and product teams<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Artwork preparation for print and installation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Design Approach<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exhibition stand needed to work at two very different scales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From a distance, it had to grab attention amongst hundreds of competing exhibitors using bold branding, confident typography and clear messaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Up close, visitors needed to quickly understand the breadth of the Tes ecosystem and navigate different product areas with ease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using the evolving Tes visual identity, I created a flexible graphic system that combined large-scale brand messaging with product-specific communications, allowing visitors to move naturally through the stand while maintaining a consistent visual language throughout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Careful consideration was given to colour, typography, photography and information hierarchy so the experience felt welcoming rather than overwhelming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Detail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"580\" src=\"https:\/\/nikhandson.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Tes-Bett-2023-Stand-Design-View-1-1024x580.jpg\" alt=\"Tes Bett 2023 Stand Design View 1\" class=\"wp-image-508\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nikhandson.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Tes-Bett-2023-Stand-Design-View-1-1024x580.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/nikhandson.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Tes-Bett-2023-Stand-Design-View-1-300x170.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nikhandson.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Tes-Bett-2023-Stand-Design-View-1-768x435.jpg 768w, https:\/\/nikhandson.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Tes-Bett-2023-Stand-Design-View-1.jpg 1170w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The stand features the &#8216;Tes wheel&#8217; a graphic device I created and evolved over the years on the back wall, along with key headline; <em>&#8220;Together, we build trusted education solutions&#8221;<\/em> to give the audience an idea of everything Tes can provide. To the left of the main back wall was a video\/demonstration screen with seating laid out in front of it.
